If one is not upgrading, but installing 4.3.3 for the first time with an empty database, there isn't an old web.config file. The installer should not encript the host and admin passwords with a set of keys without updating the release.config and debug.config files with the values used.  Where do I find the key values in this case?

Actually only the web.config file gets updated.  DNN updates it when running through the installation.

So, my mistake was not creating a web.config file from the release.config or debug.config before starting the site using a browser. Is there a standard set of keys used in this case, or are the keys recoverable? Is it easier just to start over with a new database and site?

I have the same problem. I am installing on a host running plesk. I did use the release.config to generate my web.config files and installed to a perfectly clean DB. The site launches and shows all the containers, but no log in information.

Any instructions on fixing this? Is it possible the installer doesn't have permission to change the web.config or somethign like that? Any help would be great.
