Hi

I just finished installing the 4.3.3 version and logged in successfully,

I changed my admin password, logged out and logged in successfully again.

After that I updated these lines in my web.config file:

<customErrors mode="Off" /> changed back to <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" />.

Now when I try logging in with admin user and get  an error:

Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive

Please help.

Look to write exactly the password.  Look at big an low writing.  You can use the password reminder too, to look how you write the password.

regards

Matthias

Hi Matthias

I did all this already with no success

retreving the password is also impossible since the email is not configured.

I think I know what the problem is. as I replaced the web.config file, I deleted the MachineKeys as well so the password can not be translated correctly. I think I will need to reinstall the website again since I cant restore the MachineKeys.

humm..

than it is clear.  If you have made an update without the right machine keys, the dadabase connection is corrupt.  So a new install is the only way.

Regards

Matthias

A new install is not the only way.  If you have access to the database then you can get around this issue by registering a new user and then copying the password and password salt from that new user to the host user record in the aspnet_Membership table.
