Hi all

I used to use web deployment project with option merge the individual folders into one single dll to deploy my DNN based site, but asfter the upgrade to 4.3.3, the register page brokes, it is redirected to nocontent.ascx, after debug into it, I found the problem is becasue the securityrole.ascx referenced by manageruser.ascx with a different type of admin/security/securityrole.asc, it's quite weird, then i noticed in the bin folder of the deployment project, all other DLLs looks normal except one, "App_Web_securityroles.ascx.189764e5.dll", it's so strange, because i did choose the option "merge the individual folder to single dll", why is there a "fixed name" ascx dll? anybody can share some lights here?

Thanks in advance
Mike

Mike,

I'm having the same experience using the web deployment project.  Did you ever find the problem?  We want to use the web deployment process so we can automate deployment using nAnt and run MSBuild from the command line.

Thanks,

Kurt

As usually happens, I found a workable solution just after I posted this.  You can change the configuration of the Web Deployment  project by right clicking the project and selecting Property Pages.  Click Output Assemblies in the left tree and then select "Create a separate assembly for each page and control output".  This will generate a separate assembly for each page (obviously), so you end up with a lot more assemblies --but they work.  I did notice, however, that the first time a page runs, there's a delay in loading it. (I recall another post that addresses this issue).

Hope this helps.

Kurt
