Hi all,
I'm about to start developing our company's intranet with DNN and I have a question about permissions. Is it possible to set a user's permissions so that they can have the ability to edit the content of a single module without having the ability to edit the content of other modules? On our homepage will be a few different modules that will have content that will be edited by several different dept's. We'd like to be able to lock permissions down to the point where each dept can only edit the content in their assigned module. Does this make sense?

permissions granted in module settings only apply to this module instance.

Thanks. I've almost got it.

I set up a new Role, set up a new user and assigned this new role to it, then went into the module settings and checked this new role as having editing permissions. However, when I log in as this new user and I see the drop-down arrow at the top of the module I want to edit, the only options listed under the drop-down menu are Help and Online Help. No option to Edit Text, even though I made sure to give these permissions. What gives?

I just saw another post detailing basically the same problem.  While it's also a function of the container being used, the procedure Sebastian outlined should work for you.  So, this seems odd.  What container are you using?

The container that's the problem is a Text/HTML container. I applied the same permissions to a Repository container with similar results. I then applied the same permissions to a User Defined Table and in that instance, it works fine.
