Hi

I am hosting my DNN website on godaddy.com shared hosting account.

I recently tried to upload a skin via my host account but I receive this error message:

Error: File Upload is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Access to the path 'd:\hosting\rootfolder\Portals\_default\Skins\ZyskinFree' is denied. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'd:\hosting\rootfolder\Portals\_default\Skins\ZyskinFree' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController.UploadSkin(String RootPath, String SkinRoot, String SkinName, Stream objInputStream) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.WebUpload.cmdUpload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

could anyone help me with this?

thanks,

I have exactly the same issue but I am using a different hosting company.

Error: File Upload is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Access to the path 'c:\websites\gagcgz\Portals\0\Containers\Gradient Lines by DNN Skin Makers' is denied. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'c:\websites\gagcgz\Portals\0\Containers\Gradient Lines by DNN Skin Makers' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController.UploadSkin(String RootPath, String SkinRoot, String SkinName, Stream objInputStream) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.WebUpload.cmdUpload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in http://server/Admin/Files/WebUpload.ascx.vb:line 477 --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Did either of you get a response on this?  I have the same issue.

I am developing locally, and recently updated my code with another developer's via TortoiseSVN - since doing that I am getting the same error.

I'm guessing the files are protected somehow, but I can't figure out how.

If it helps, I also cannot parse an existing skin.

A critical error has occurred.
Access to the path 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\website\portals\_default\skins\dnn-blue\Horizontal Menu - Fixed Width.ascx' is denied.

Actually I fixed this last night. I discovered it is a permissions issie on the Portals directory. I simply allowed the network service account full permissions on the Portals directory and hey presto it worked. I should also add that prior to this I ran thru the upgrade to the latest 4.3.3 version. I got the same error which led me down the permissions path. Once I changed the permissions on the directory the skins and containers uploaded with out a problem. Hope this helps.
