Thanks for your patience Chris - what could be the cause of it not working for me on both dotnetnuke.com and on my local installation then?

I even registered as a brand new user on dotnetnuke.com and tried to get the checkbox to stay against the forums I'm interested in, and it doesn't stay, and I don't get notified.

Regards,

Scott

Okay, I worked it out - its not obvious that you need to click on the Forum folder icon to expand the forum and see the sub-forums...

I was thinking that I could click the forum I was interested in, and be subscribed to all the sub-forums. ie, if I said I was interested in the "Forums" section, and a new sub-forum was added tomorrow, that I would start receiving emails.

I had a different set of expectations.

Regards,

Scott

Scott, that is a good topic of conversation. I have been kicking around the forum email notificaiton system in my head the past week. This is going to be a major enhancement to the app as it is heavily hurting performance now too. This will definately be a requirement I keep in mind for when I am actually working out the entire forum email setup. I am not sure yet if this will be next because I want to write a core solution but may start off doing it here then working it into the core.

Just a quick question about the forum email notification.  We're hosted with godaddy.com  Their smtpout.sercureserver.net out going server requires port 80 or 3535 and basic authentication   We have successful email notification coming from the admin and even the feedback module  However, we are as yet unsuccessful with the forum 3.20.8 on 4.3.4  Would there be any possibly the forum would not use either port 80 or 3535

Thanks and Appreciate your attention
