Hi guys,

Trying to upload a new logo to my portal, and it seems to upload fine, then the admin page comes back with a little message at the top ..

A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

And obviously, the selected file wasnt uploaded.

Any hints?

What version of DNN are you using?  Are you able to save any other changes in the Site Settings?

I remember troubleshooting a problem last year which prevented any changes at all from being saved to Site Settings, and I think it was the same error you're getting, though I'd have to refer back to my notes to make sure.  Just check to see if you can save any other site settings, such as the copyright or whatever, and if you can then it's not the problem I'm thinking of.

Also, try to upload the file using the file manager and then after it is uploaded come back to the Site Settings and you should be able to select the file from the dropdown list.  That will help isolate the problem.

4.3.2. And yes, can save any other changes I make.

Yeah, tried File Manager, same thing. Maybe permissions on the directory that files are uploaded to? Anyone know what that directory is?
