I installed DotNetNuke_4.0.3_StarterKit.vsi , created website and new modules to try it out and everything worked fine. Then I deleted the directoy where DNN was installed, in order to start a new site from scratch. I was surprized to find out that I cannot create new DNN web site project (In VS 2005 I click on file->new->web site and there is no DNN website template). I tried reinstalling starter kit version 4.0.3, no effect, then 4.3.3, also no effect.

Can you help? The only solution I can think of is reinstalling windows and everything. I hope I won't need to do that.

Same here, except I didn't try 4.0.3. Only 4.3.3.
I ran the Starter Kit and told it to install everyting, and - according to the documentation - that should be enough to get started with the Visual Web Developer. I use the 2005 Express edition. But there is no DNN template to be found.
What did I do wrong? What did I forget to do?

Oh, I found out that I can only use the DNN template when logged into Windows as an administrator account.
Is there a specific reason for this? The documentation I've read so far doesn't mention this.

I have having the same problem. I installed it and it works correctly.

Except I cannot see it on new web projects.

Anyone know how to manually add this correctly?

I copied the zip files. I should be able to insert them into the list (not sure if thats a config file or registry)

I have looked at DNN for a while and I am trying to convince my boss that we need to use it. :) Any pointers?

Thanks,

theMouse

Actually I noticed that I have a much bigger problem.

I have no web site project templates showing up when I do create new web site.

Its a Visual Studio Problem.... not a template one.

Made sure that my project defaults were set to VB (import/export settings) ,

run devenv /installvstemplates

Renamed the Install Kit.Zip to Install.vsi

None of this worked but it may for you.

More details on this problem can be found at http://geekswithblogs.net/ehammersley/archive/2005/11/08/59451.aspx

I plan to repair VS, failing that reinstalling it.

E-ya later,

theMouse
