Hi all:

I am trying to move a few of our DNN 3.1 modules to 4.3.3 (great job btw!). The way I was taught to develop modules in 2 and 3 was to add a DNN Module in Visual Studio to the DesktopModules folder in an existing DNN website.

However, I cannot do this anymore. I have already used the DNN Install zips to create the website. I am not interested in debugging the core at this point. All I want to do is to be able to create a new 'DNN Module' or a new 'DNN Skin Module'.

Does anyone know the steps I am missing? I don't understand the need to create a new DNN Solution, when I already have a DNN website. And I don't know if this would solve the problem anyway. I just want to add a module to the existing website, which I could do in .NET 1.1.

Just as an FYI, I have downloaded the VS2005 Web Application Add-in, in case that makes any kind of difference.

I thank anyone who can help answer this question. I always read the documentation, but I do not see how to add a module the way I used to. I've also read Shaun's tutorial, but it only uses the starter kit to create the website. I did not use a starter kit to create the website, and hopefully I do not have to completely toss out this website, just to add a new DNN Module.

This is Page 2 of a module creation tutorial, it describes how to set up your development environment

In anycase you should read al of adef's tutorials they make good reading, and are easy to understand
