For the life of me, now that I have integrated AD (3.2x) working, I am now logging in as my AD account (auto login).  I can SEE me in asp.net_users.  But, I cant login as Admin, and I cant seem to give myself admin rights!

Now that I am using AD for authentication, how do I tell DNN that I am an admin?

Two things you can do:

1. Find your account's userid in the users table, find the admin role's roleid for your portal in the Roles table, then insert a row in the UserRoles table, thus making your account a member of the Admins group for your portal.

2. Find your account's row in the Users table and change the value of the IsSuperUser to 1.  This gives you the same rights as HOST.

I tried #1 and although there was no error, there was still no increased access.

As for #2, there is no such field.  There is an IsAnonymous flag, but no IsSuperUser flag

GOT IT!

ok, I was using the asp_user and asp_role field and not users and roles.  When I modified those instead, it worked.

This was WAY to hard of a process...

But like all things, one change lead to another broken something or other.

Now that I can get in as an admin, I now get this when I attempt to pull up the Admin>user accounts.

Error: User Accounts is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.HtmlUtils.FormatEmail(String Email) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Users.UserAccounts.DisplayEmail(String Email) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

This was a fully working portal before I tried to implement the integrated signon

ALSO of NOTE: I had to comment out the following line out of web.config to get all of this to work:

 <!-- page level options WHY DID I HAVE TO COMMENT THIS OUT!????-->
    <!-- pages validateRequest="false" enableEventValidation="false" enableViewStateMac="true" /-->

If I leave it in, I now get an error in .net
