Hi Store team ...

I am using your module because it has a clean design and good potential .. but of course since it is quite new it doesnt do everything, so I will want to make some changes ;)

Here are a few of my ideas, if the team is already planning any of them pls let me know, I dont want to duplicate any effort!

Big stuff:
- Customisable product data source selection (the store owner might already have product data in a different db/tables), so I plan to make it possible to select where to get product data from
- Customisable category data source selection (see above)
- More ajax in ui .. ie select a category and products show without a page refresh
- .. some other stuff I havent fully worked out yet

Smaller stuff:
- Multi level categories (unlimited depth) - I know this is planned by the team already
- One product can belong to more than one category
- Offline processing (POS) payment provider, again with customisable data sources
- Using pre-render to set module titles dynamically
- .. lots of other stuff I havent fully worked out yet

So if any of these are already planned, can you pls let me know.  Also if you are interested, I might be able to submit some of my efforts for your consideration

Keep up the good work :)

JK

Another new feature idea: Precompiled templates (ala skins and containers) - Any plans for this to be done?

I mean that it could work exactly like the skins and containers do .. upload a .htm file, click "Parse Template", and it is converted to a .ascx control

The conversion would create a .ascx with a DataList (or similar) whose item template is set to the html from the template file.  Tags would be replaced with the appropriate databinding or command button or etc

This would mean that the template doesnt have to be parsed and manually databound on every page load as it is currently

What do you think?

JK.
