Hello All!

I had to move a DNN site to a new server. Database server stayed the same. I first backed up everything, then copied all files to new weberver. Everything ran but got the everlasting object not available error when trying to login.

So I thought it was time, so I also applied the new 4.3.4 upgrade hoping it would fix whatever wasn't registered. It did.

However, now I can not login to either the host or the admin accounts and I have reset the password using the SQL Script to do so, so I know I am using the right password.

I then found an seemingly unrelated post about how the machinekey section

MachineValidationKey & MachineDecryptionKey

are tied to the machine and thought I probably have something going on surrouding this issue.

Does anyone know how I can get the app to work on the new webserver against the same database(on a seperate server)?

Is there a tool to regen these keys that will update the database or what do I have to do to get it to work?

Thanks!

Russ

You should be able to copy the keys over to the new machine...otherwise, I there's some code on msdn that can be used to create an executable named HashConfigCS.exe (cs is for the C# version)....still, though, I think this is tied to some users in the dnn tables.  So, not sure if this post helps at all.
