Hello,

I have resently upgraded to DNN4 and was wondering about the "Manage Profile" page that you can put all your information in that you didnt have to fill out when registering. It says on the right side "Visibility: Public, Members Only, Admin Only". If it is set to Public, where does this info show up?

I'm just guessing here, but wouldn't that info show up in the Forum or Blog modules? I don't have either set up on my site, so I can't test my theory though...

Me, too!  I posed the question on the Platinum forum a few days ago and haven't received a response yet.

The visibility settings are to segregate who can see what user profile settings. In the default distribution the only area that users can see profile property settings rendered are in the user management pages. The property editor is a framework extension that can be reused (see http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/409/Default.aspx and http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/457/Default.aspx) , that's designed to be available for module use e.g. I might make a module that stores some custom user settings (e.g. staff-security code), that I want to store, but only make visible to only admins. I've already used this in some internal modules and it substantially reduces code, as well as meaning I don't have to create custom tables to store generic data, and do an innerjoin to the users table.
