Hi, I seem to be having a very odd problem with functions that use the DotNetNuke clientapi module. I am running the source version of DotNetNuke 4.0.3.

The problem is for some reason things like the module minimize/maximize and module drag and drop have ceased to work. When I first installed DotNetNuke, these things were still working however over time I noticed that this functionality seemed to disappear.

It does not seem to be a problem with my browser because I installed a new version of DotNetNuke 4.3.3 and everything works fine. It's just my previous installation that isn't working. The same thing happened with an installation of DotNetNuke 4.3.2 but after upgrading to 4.3.3, functionality was restored.

This has led me to believe that there may be some problem with the compilation of the website however I do not have any errors when building the solution or website.

This problem has really left me stumped. I would appreciate any guidance in solving or troubleshooting this problem.

Determining whether a page should render uplevel or downlevel based on the browser is done in the clientapicaps.config file found in the js folder within your dotnetnuke install.  Perhaps this file is being modified?

Could you verify that this problem occurs with more than one browser or just IE?

Do you have a url for me to look at?

Jon,

I have checked the clientapicaps.config file and I don't think it has been modified since the modified date is 12/22/2005.

I have checked with firefox as well as IE and yes the problem is not confined to one browser.

Sorry, I do not have a url for you as the installation is on my local pc in my company network.

Thanks for taking the time to help me troubleshoot this.

Open up a page that should have min/max capabilities on your local server in IE. Go to the File menu.   Choose Save As...   Save the file to an empty folder.  Zip that folder along with its sub-folder that was created up and email it to me so I can have a look.

Jon,

Sorry for scaring you but I managed to find out that it was a problem with my container. The css for .SMVisibility was set to {display:none;}. After removing this, minmax was working again. But I am still having problems with module drag and drop. It works for the normal DNN-Blue container but doesn't work with my current container. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
