One thing you may want to also consider is RSS feeds.

I had a similar problem, I have separate DNN installations created on one of my servers which are setup for my web design clients.

I wanted to create a private area on each of their sites which displays announcements. Eg. Latest offers, updates, etc.

Solution: - On my main DNN installation I created an RSS feed which displays announcements.

In each of the new installations I create them from a template so that upon installation they automatically create an additional page only available to the admin of that site which displays the RSS feed announcements from my main site.

It might not be suitable for your needs but it's something else to consider, thanks,

I thought of a different option which would be the SkinObject.  I see that I could use a SkinObject to render something on any skin that I have hosted under the Host Skins.  The amount of programing involved would vary and be necessary by anyone who wants a custom SkinObject.  I would be a work around but not what I call the real fix.

I am still trying to figure it out.
