My old websites that were based on .NET aspx manually built pages had not problem indexing into Google.  Why do my Dot Net Nuke Sites not make it into Google even with sitemaps built!

Would someone shed some light on how to effectively list all my pages on google?

Thanks,
Allan

The quickest way to get them indexed is to have links to them from other sites.

Also, the Solpart menu is not spider friendly, so you will need alternate links on your new site, or the site map that you mentioned.

I spent a LOT of time on SEO and research to get the DotNetNuke Directory listed. It even achieved a Page Rank of 5 but was not indexed. I started this post well over a month ago.

There is a lot of good advice in there but it's not DNN specific - there are definitely some things that could be done in DNN to help - but it wont stop you being indexed. You need to follow all the guidelines and be patient.

The DotNetNuke Directory was indexed about 4 days ago...

John - are there any plans to make the default menu more SEO compliant do you know? Assuming the I want the same look and feel and with the least amount of effort to change (just plug in the Skin Object?)- can you recommend any alternatives that are SEO friendly? Thanks

I have 36,600 pages that show up in Google for my site. I use DNN since 2003 and I do not use friendly URL's. Google stops by every day and causes a lot of hits when that happens. Type in Google "Smallbusiness Server" and you will see I am listed as second just below Microsoft....

Rodney,

regarding Solpart, have a look at this blog post from Jon Henning: http://dotnetnuke.com/tabid/825/EntryID/444/Default.aspx
