Hello

I have the DNN-Version 4.3.4. In the Loginmodule it has a Checkbox "Remember Login", but it doesn't work. It doesn't gets an error, but the login dates are not saved.

I hope that anyone can help me...

I call it a bug, while the core team does not. Delete the cookie files associated with your domain. I have to post this message on my most active gamer site, as I get a lot of complaints about not being able to stay logged in, etc. If anyone has a fix, I've been waiting a year for it... oops am I ranting again? ;)

Here's the message I use on the login page:

P.S. I had nothing to do with the design of this website.

actually it's a breaking change in asp.net 2.0. I detailed how you can set the timeout value @ http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/233/Default.aspx . I plan to add a dotnetnuke setting at some point to get around this limitation in asp.net.

The problem happens in DNN 3.X too (asp.net 1.1). The cookie is not timing out -- it is corrupted, because you do not properly authenticate users. One piece of evidence is that users authenticating via cookie do not get their last login date reset. Are you disputing this still?

Edit: I just verified this, it's LastActivityDate in the aspnet_Users table. What's going on is that it's just doing like a "isauthenticated" check and redirecting -- it's not actually logging you in the same way as if you typed in the username and password. Excuse me it's been awhile since I looked at my asp.net login code.

I'm also seeing core modules starting to use more cookies, which may also lead to getting logged out, due to the 20 cookie limit per domain.

I do not know much about this (I saw the blog entry about increasing the cookie Timout, but I have not tried it yet) - but I just wanted to confirm that it also happens on all my 3.x sites on .NET 1.1 too...
