Hi,
In the installation manual there are descriptions
only about how to upgrade from 3.x...

When i upgrade from 4.31 to 4.34, is there special actions?

These is what i'm going to do:
1. Backup my site
2. Copy the relevant values (machine key, etc...) from the old web.config
to the new web.config.
3. Extract the new version file to overwrite my older version files.
4. Enter my site.

Correct?

My steps are:

  1. take site off line so the update isn't accidently triggered
  2. backup site
  3. unzip upgrade into proper folder on the website (mine is installed in the root so that is where I unzip the files)
  4. copy the relevant sections from my old web.config to release.config
  5. rename web.config (I personally use web.config.old)
  6. rename release.config to web.config
  7. navigate to the site via browser to trigger the updates
  8. check site settings to make sure everything is correct
  9. bring the server back on-line

yess correct, only 4.3.1 was a Release Candidate (RC) and upgrades aren't really supported from those versions

you would need to check the 3.3.1, 3.3.2 and 3.3.3 SQL files for stuff that has changed. If I remember correctly there were some bug fixes in those files. that won't get executed if you upgrade from 4.3.1 to 4.3.4.

I have no idea what they where, but I do know you will have a bugged site after that upgrade. If you encounter bugs you would need to compare between your DB and a fresh install DB and manually repair

I recommend rebuildin your site from the ground up on a *Gold* release (4.3.4) and never upgrade to a *Beta* or *RC* release.

Beta and RC releases are only good to start your module development before the Gold Release commes
