Is there an online resource that tells how to package a module in a zip for uploading to production once it has been tested on the development server?

Thanks for any help.

The easiest way to learn is by example.  Look at an existing module private assembly (PA) .zip file.  You might find SQL install and uninstall scripts to use as a starting point for any tables or stored procedures you need to create at install.

You will always find a .dnn file.  Open this file in Notepad and you will see that it is a fairly simple XML file.  Edit it to match your needs.
