Hi,

I have a problem with USer Accoutns. I am a complete newbie to DNN.  I downloaded and installed. All worked fine.  I have created contedn pages and placed modules in pages.  The basic funcitons seem to work fine.

I tried to add a new user accoutn.  Every time I add an account the process works fine up to the very last stage...

Click Add new user, fill in fields, click Register. Return to user account screen with this error message.

An error has occurred.
Error: Edit User Accounts is currently unavailable.

The account seems to have been added anyway because when I list all the accounts the new one displays.  I don't yet have the expereience to know if the accoutn is damaged in some way.

Any ideas why this process crashes?

Thanks - Richard

Best wishes,

What DNN Core version and have you tried logging in with that account? If not, please do so first then answer the following:

Were you able to login?

Was you able to edit that accounts profile? What problems did you encounter editing the profile?

Crispy - thanks for your reply.

I think I solved it already.  I installed using a port number.  As a result the install put email addresses of the form host@pe750:7081 in for the host account and the admin account.  This is later recognised as an invalid address and causes the error I saw.  Correct the addresses (you hvae to get both) and the problem goes away.

Thanks again - Richard

Make sure that all the accounts including the Admin account and the Host account have valid email addresses.
