When using NiftyVideo, the default config does not show the load status, buffering % etc. Is there a media player config setting, available to the repository, to show this.

Many users don't understand that the video is loading and keep clicking it. The load status would show them something is going on.

You can edit niftyVideo\template.html.

In Frontpage you can right click on the media player and select ActiveX control properties. On the Parameters tab change the value for ShowStatusBar to -1.

good point, can i prevent automatic downloading of video file?

i want it to load when visitor clicks on play but or something like that..

otherwise my page freezes cus too many video files i have hosted :(

I have the same issue. I’ve resigned myself to the idea of having just one player per page. YouTube and Google only have one player per page…

The only other thing I’ve done is convert the videos to progressive download. This lets the end users start playing video almost immediately and provides a comforting “Buffering…” message in the status bar during the download. Something like Sorenson Squeeze can be used to convert the videos.
