Hey

I've installed the DotNetNuke StarterKit (version 4.3.4) together with my visual web
developer 2005 express. When I for the first time run my DNN site, I see
this data:
Installation Status Report
00:00:00.234 - Installing Version: 3.1.0
00:00:00.265 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.SetUp.SqlDataProvider
00:00:09.453 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.Schema.SqlDataProvider

A tutorial I have says that installation is finished when a link with the
text "Click Here To Access Your Portal", is displayed on the page. I don't
see such link (and I waited several minutes)

My computer has winXP Pro (sp2)

I have not installed Sql Server Express, I've so far only used the default
database installed which was installed by visual web developer 2005 express

Any suggestions to solve this?

The database that the visual web developer uses is ONLY available when you use the developer nor is it (the developer) a live web server.  Those services are available only within the Visual Web Developer environment.  You need to install SQL Express just as you need IIS installed to have a live web site.
