hey

I've created a DotNetNuke 4.3.4 portal on localhost. I've run the site wizard to customize the portal GUI. In the wizard I selected the "Club or Organization site" template. This is okay

BUT, how should this be done if I'm designing a DotNetNuke portal for a client and he has his own GUI requirements. In other words how do I create a GUI template for a DotNetNuke portal?

Is it like this: Export and existing template and do some modifications in it and then import it back into the DotNetNuke portal, or what??

Maybe some had a link to a tutorial describing how to create a DotNetNuke template ?

Start reading the skinning document, it is in the documents zip file, you can get it from the same place you got the dnn distribution.

Another starting point could be www.traincert.com or www.dnncreative.com, and there are many more. Google for "create dotnetnuke skins"

Thanks for replying to my post.

If the GUI is specified in .skin files, what are the purpose of the .template files? I thought that the GUI had to be set in .template files and use skin to specify color, font etc?

My boss told me that to make the GUI to DotNetNuke portal I had to create a template file (xml)... So I'm a bit confused now

Any suggestions?

okay, I will read the skinning document!
