On a site I am working on, I have a need to post sensitive information (like account numbers, etc.).  Is there a way to encrypt the data so that it is not stored as clear text in the database?  Thanks in advance,

- Ron.

Here's what I am trying to do - so any thoughts or different ideas are welcome.  I am creating a site for a company.  On a page for the owners, I am placing content such as important documents, information about their business, etc.

On that page, they have a need to post information like a bank account number, the bank's website, and a pin.  Even though the site requires login and the page is restricted to owners, they are not 100% comfortable with putting that information on the page (as a breech would mean account access)...

Further, they have individual information (like email account name and password) that they want me to post and they can edit.  I plan on using the User Defined Table for that ...

Does this seem like a reasonable approach - should I be concerned about the security item noted above?  Thanks,

- Ron.

Ron,

current version of UserDefinedTable does support information, that can only be edited by record creator (and admin of course) and is visible to alle members of granted roles. If you want to store information specific to users, check out the latest enhancements for the user profiles, where user can enter data, that is only available to admins and themselves.

Thank you!

While I know I can extend the user profile to add more fields, is it possible to have just the extended attributes show on a page (that is, add the User Account module but only have it show the extended attributes for editing)?  I'm not sure how to do that which is why I am leaning toward using the User Defined Table...

Also, any advice on the security concern is greatly appreciated.  Thanks again,

- Ron.
