Hi All

Not sure what the policy is on compatibility, but I have noticed some issues with Firefox (1.0.6 and 1.5b  both on Windows).  Also I don't know whether they are Firefox issues or issues with the module.

Anyway when viewing a thread the ratings stars are outside of the table.  Also when viewing My Settings the grid of the General Settings does not fill the width, but it does if you collapse and expand General Settings.

A final thing I have noticed on both IE and Firefox is that sometimes when New Thread is clicked the user is taken back to the forum listing, rather than the Add/Edit Post screen.  Unfortunately I can't recreate this under test conditions, but I have experienced it myself and witnessed others experiencing it.

A bit off topic, but can someone point me at the compatibility policy for DNN.  I am trying to introduce DNN as an intranet.  Some of our users will use Firefox and other browsers under Linux and also IE and Safari on Mac.  Not sure whether it is IE, DNN or the skin I was using but the Mac made a right hash of things.  Tried Safari which was greatly better, but text in the Settings > Permissions was not there, though the check boxes were.  Made me look a bit of a mug after spending some time convincing people that DNN was the answer to all our problems.  Sorry for the off topic.

Finally, thanks for all your hard work it's much apprciated.

There is no cross browser policy for DotNetNuke.  We have all been trying to make it better but there is no policy.  I have a  mac at home and I have never noticed any major issues with the default skins when using my mac.  This leads me to believe your skin file is off.

Thanks for the quick response.

I just tried using one of the DNN default skins in the forums page and the rating stars were in the correct place.  I guess its the (bought) skin thats faulty, looks like I need to learn some CSS stuff to try and correct it.  I suspect the Mac issues are also related to the skin and I will test a Mac with a default skin.

Sorry for the waste of time post.

No appologies necessary at all.  I would hardly call this wasted time, this could be a problem others are experiencing too.

To let you know, one of our goals for the forums .05 release is better browser compatability.  That along w/ other bug fixes that are found.

I'm a Mac HTML/Flash Designer on a Mac and started my first DNN site a couple days ago. I use Safari but still have IE for checking browsers during development. Both of those browsers failed to let me edit in the Text/HTML module using the Preview tools. I found a thread this morning at http://forums.asp.net/865355/ShowPost.aspx that says Netscape 7.2 for Mac works best. That makes the Preview mode available, but not the browsing for uploading image files. I hope they get a fix for Safari as soon as possible, though I don't now how the fix will be applied, seems to me like it would have to be a patch update to the DNN setup on my host server, which is a little scary to contemplate for a front end guy.
