Chris,

No offense taken....hope there was none from me.  I hate that I caused your frustration with this note.  It was really not my intention and I regret that it came across that way.  I simply wanted to add one more case to the body of knowledge about this to help you guys nail this down.   At any rate, I am really serious about helping you get this fixed in any way I can.  We manage our own servers so I can provide you with absolutely any information that you need. I want to be a help here and not a hindrance.  Thanks!

Spence

I think the frustration is more about how some feel that we have a "if we don't see it broken, we aren't going to fix it" attitude. That is never the case. (Nothing taken personally)

What I need in detail is what dnn version, does it ever work in the forums. What is the email addy going out (you can mask it but i need a format), if you have per user enabled. I need to know the email list whom it is going out to as well. (Meaning i need to know if there is a null email somehow)

Certainly...I completely understand.  Here is the info:

dnn version:  3.2.2 (as a note, we have been upgrading since DNN 1....we even used the XXL varint for while if you remember this)

does it ever work in the forums:  No, we have never been able to get the forums to send an email.

What is the email addy going out (you can mask it but i need a format):  have tested 2 adddresses in this format on two different domains - info@xxxxx.com, have also used my personal address that is in the format name@spencehackney.com

is per user enabled:  this is not, it is unchecked.

email list whom it is going out to as well. (Meaning i need to know if there is a null email somehow):  I tested it on several threads with two test users I created specifically for this purpose.  Both fo these test users used my email address (name@spencehackney.com).  I did an earlier test using the host account, but then read in the manual that the host account does not have an email attached to it, so I quit testing this way.

Anything else, please let me know!

I too am having the same problem...local, and hosting environment.

I too get the registration emails, newsletter emails, etc.

Did anyone come to a resolution on what could be wrong.  I'm convinced I did not do something right, but what that something is I have no idea.  The remainder of the functionality works great.

THere is no messages in the log indicating a problem.  Is there any other way to troubleshoot?
