After making changes to the files & folders from outside DNN the file manager has orphan files and folders listed.  Synchronizing the folder seems to update the new files/folders only but doesn't refresh the whole file system to reflex the new structure. Is it possible to force a complete refresh of the file manager listing as its makes linking to files more difficult (the drop down list to select the file still lists the orphan files)

I tried to delete the orphan folders from file manager but it throws an error saying the folder has already been removed but still leaves the folder listed.

How do you force a complete refresh of the file manager entry?

Try Dave Buckner's TRTPortalFileMonitor from his site.  It has helped me with similar problems.
