I have installed DNN 4.3.4 on a hosting server without any special configuration. When I load home page my web site don't redirect to any page.
If you can, try to install latest DNN release.

Hi Colin,

I don't think that the core DNN code is what was originally causing the redirect.  I believe it is the Catalook store module that is doing the re-direct.

My recomendation would be to not display the catalook store on the home page. You could still have the same content, just don't use the Catalook module to display it.

Very nice implementation of Catalook by the way.

thanks for that john, took me a while to set it up (first catalook and DNN skin attempt!)

bit of a bummer if catalook is indeed causing the redirect as i didn't really want to mess around with the site layout.

but then i hope it is the reason for the redirects as this is one problem that i've been pulling my hair out over!

Update to follow......

(but if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to make them!)

TADA!

the Catalook CAT_ItemPaneNF module on the front page was causing the redirect, (probably in my mind because it checks for the welcome message)

My solution?

Create a new page, (make it hidden) i copied the menuNF, minicart and searchNF modules over to this hidden page and created a Text/html module in place of the itempaneNF module.

made the sites homepage point to this hidden page, and left the original home page as it was.

works a treat.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of catalook.

Excellent, glad I could help.

Here's another tip.  The Catalook store generates the thumbnails it uses on every page dynamically from the main image which takes some time.  If you want to speed up the browsing of your store, you can cache those thumbnails by adding one line of code to the DesktopModules/CATALooKStore/MakeThumbImage.aspx page.

Open the page with an editor and add this line below the one line that is in there:

<%@ OutputCache Duration="86400" VaryByParam="*" %>

That will make the thumbnails get cached for a day (86400 seconds).

After adding that line, browse around and you'll notice your thumbnail images loading a lot faster.
