I have just started to build a web site on a DNN System.  I want to be able to create and edit skins but it would be wonderful to have a test environment.  My provider is not currently allowing permissions to upload skins, I will have to send him the zip and have him install it.

So How do I go about setting up a test environment on my Computer.

I have a 2100+ processor 768 Meg RAM, Windows XP Home Ed.

And I don't want to spend a fortune to be able to make skins.

I have already downloaded and installed Microsoft VisualWebDeveloper Express 05.  I also have FrontPage 2002.

I think the holdup is IIS 6.0  How do I get this working on my computer?  Do I have to spend serious $ to setup my computer as a internet web server, just to test pages localy?

I figure I also need SQL Server (and I believe there is a free download for that).

 

It comes down to the ? HOW DO I SETUP A LOCAL TEST ENVIRONMENT TO BUILD SKINS FOR DNN?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This question can't be all that difficult.  All over the place I see people saying to test skins on a local computer first.  If there is so much local testing then it can't be that complex of a question.

There has to be someone out there testing skins on a local computer.  Please let me know how you are doing it.
