I have been trying to research this, and I definitely know it's possible, so I was wondering if any kind people can enlighten me on I can enable the table background color to change on a hover over?

Any help is appreciated.

While you should be able to define a rule using the :hover pseudo-class in the selector - for example:

table:hover {background-color: red}

CSS does not define to which elements the :hover pseudo-class may be applied. Hence, there are serious differences as for which elements a particular browser will properly process the :hover pseudo-class. A quick test showed that Netscape 7.2 did support this while Internet Explorer 6.0 did not.
