Maybe the login page was changed?  If you look at the Portals table, what is the value for LoginTabId of the portal that had problem?  Is it null?

Yes, the LoginTabId is NULL.  It is NULL for all of my portals, so I assume this is how it is supposed to be(?)

FYI - My site is still dead and the reward is still unclaimed.  To make matters worse, my host just told me they only keep backups for the past 5 days (it's been 8 days) and so I don't even have the option of going back to tape...  There is a very serious need for DNN to have the capability to create it's own backups of individual sites.  A site admin should be able to click a button and create a snapshot of their site as it exists at any given point in time and then download that snapshot as a zip file (and upload it back if they need to).  Looks like I'll be recreating this site from scratch... (crying)

There is a way to backup a site.  You simple export your site to a template wiht the "include content" option checked.  To recreate the site you simply create a site using the template you created.  This is all done thru the host\portals page.
