OK I just installed the GB language pack from the site, cleared the cach via host setting, logged out, restarted IIS, logged in and I still appear to have a number of resource files missing. Some are third party apps of course, but is the below normal with 4.3.3?

I've recently logged a lot of issues in Gemini, mostly enhancement requests after going through chapters 1 to 6 of the "Professional DotNetNuke 4" book with a fine toothcomb. I highly recommend this book to others. They've been very good so far going through the calls (esp full timer Charles) and I am most grateful for their time in listening and fixing the issues. I'm now turning my hand to the development side of things.

I hope they handle the rest of the issues in the 4.3.6 and 4.3.7 releases before they even consider pandering to the ASP.NET 3.0 bandwagon to keep Microsoft happy. I hope the enhancements/bugs/tasks I've logged prove worthwhile along with other peoples logged issues. I know many of these issues I've logged are far too obvious sometimes to mention, but I thinks it's good to document them so they don't go away.

The holes so far to me seem to be (to be brutally frank):

a) Gemini change log is sometimes not kept up to date for the latest DNN release. A lot of residue issues can hang around and be ignored for months I notice without being closed. Still a pretty good job is being done though.

b) Updating the locales is not happening properly (I've learnt today).

c) Often modules are accidentally omitted, or the wrong version supplied. Only for it to be sneaked in without notification a few weeks later (without any revision increment stated, that's got to be bad!).

d) Communication via the newsletter. I never seem to receive them via email + I currently cannot even gain access to the newsletter on the website ("You do not have access to view this tab within the portal."), logged in or not (permissions need revising). I still would dearly like to read the latest newsletter (plus any old ones they might have) but I can't.

My (possibly wrong) perception is too much time is being spent on the road rather than getting on with the actual job to hand at the moment. I hope these areas can be improved in what is otherwise an excellent job in a complicated environment. Maybe another full timer is required to keep up the overall quality control (if the money is available).

As soon as my site goes live (waiting on 4.3.5) and runs without any major hitches for a month I will consider putting my money where my mouse is and contribute to this worthwhile project. I encourage others to do the same.

But improvement need to be made in terms of the change management, consistency and overall speed of the whole project. Easier said than done I guess!! On the whole the project is superb though, it's just that the obvious holes need filling in, in order for it to be the framework force to be reckoned with. I realise nothing ever happens overnight, but it could happen tomorrow....

I think there is some confusion. I agree with you all about the resource verifier.
I've logged an enhancement request again under DNNP-4036 removing any references about specific language packs, it's all about UI and framework of the language packs.

It seems to me a community member has provided the files but somehow they have been not made available. So how does this situation get resolved?

I'm am particularly interested in English (United Kingdom) (en-GB) language pack. I am from England, the home of the English language, part of the United Kingdom :) !
It's not that much different from US English.
