Hi all,

So far my newly uploaded DNN works great on my website. One problem, though, as I've noticed, is that users cannot register. They click on "Register" and then fill out the appropriate fields: Username, First Name, Last Name, Display Name, Password, etc. Then once they click on "Register" (to submit all the info and register a display name) they're immediately taken to the home page. There's NO message saying, "You failed to register." There's NO message saying, "You've registered successfully." You're simply taken to the home page. DNN doesn't tell its users whether or not they've completed the registration process correctly or incorrectly. Users are left in the dark.

As the Admin, I logged into my account and looked up their newly registered accounts in the "Users" section. Low and behold, they're there! So I know that they registered successfully. But the users cannot log in. Any time they attempt to log into the website they've given an error message. I thought perhaps I pressed the wrong button, or changed something that I shouldn't have... so I uninstalled the program and re-installed it, starting over with a clean slate. Sure enough, same problem. I don't know what to do. Are there any experts on here that handle questions like these? Please help! I'd very much appreciate anyone's thoughts on what it might be. Thanks.

please check the portal settings, which registration mode you are using. If you set it to "private", you will need to approve them, before they can log in. If it is set to verified, please check your SMTP settings, as it sounds, like the registration mail is not sent out. AFAIR there is still a message missing and this has been fixed for the next DNN version - please refer to the roadmap/chog at the issue tracker for details.
