Hello to Everybody,

First post, and already a question.

I'm impressed about the project dotnetnuke, so I've tried to install it by myself, to explore it a little. Everything went fine and easy (with a help of forum threads and documentation), until I stepped into a problem, I can not solve since one week:(

I saw some threads with similar problem, but non of the solutions is working for me, or there are few not posted solutions.

The issue is, after installation (does not metter is 4.x or 3.x, the problem is always the same), I can not login either as admin or host. Well, I CAN login, but then I'm redirected to homepage, without access to any of configuration features, and there is no information that I'm login.

In database seems to be ok.  Events table contains entries that I've logged in sucessfuly. Also in the table Portals, the value of collumn LoginTabId is null (ctrl + 0)

I could not find any error logs, any messages saying that something is wrong.

Also, didn't found any cookies.

Configuration is as fallow:

- WinXp Pro SP2

- MS SQL 2000 with sp3

- DotNetNuke 4

- IE with everything enabled (all cookies, all security set to lowest range)

- .NET 2.0

Please help, because I'm hopeless.

Best regards

Matik

Hi, Matik.

Which package you use: Install, Source or Starter kit ? IIS, VS on your computer ?

Hi Michael,

Thank You very much for your reply.

I'm using Install package.

The IIS version is: 5.1

I'm not sure what do You mean with VS (Visual Studio probably not, no visual studio used on that machine anyway) but if you mean Virtual Server, then it is the same local machine. Same IP adress, same domain. Nothing specific.

If this is not what You ment, please share with me where can I check it.

Best regrads

Hi, Matik.

I meant Visual Studio as VS. What credentials are you using when logging in for Admin or Host ?

Can you attach a screenshot of the page after logging ?

Michael

Hi Michael,

I would love to insert a image, but .... I can not! I do not know why. I was trying for 15 minutes to insert the screenshot, but it didn't worked anyway. Is there an option, how to insert a file ... or what?

Anyway ... page looks exactly like the first page when you call an application. Means, like this :
