The core lists can not be localized at this time.

In fact I found a solution: Locopon's Localizator (DSLocalizator) ... my prefered module by fare

With this tool you migh translate terms independently from where they appear.

After some testing I discovered that this solution does not work, because for a mysterious reason DNN does not retain the value of a list entry when the user sets it, but the text, which of course produces that the translated text does not match any list entry.

 

I do not understand the usefulness to check the text and not the value of a DropDownList. What do you think John, should I add an issue in Gimini?

Values in lists should never change.  They are usually unique keys.  They should preferably be numbers, although that is rarely the case.

In other words, Localization should only deal with visual text, not the underlying information that is used in the programming logic.
