If this method

DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetUsers

is deprecated, what method replaces it?

I am assuming there is something that returns a List<DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserInfo> ?

Hmmm, I'm creating a member search module and was going off of the "User Accounts" admin module and that's what they're using. My issue with that GetUsers though is that the Roles property returned is always null. I just found a method in the RolesManager

roles.GetUsersByRoleName

and am trying that now.

The only difference in the new method is that its static, so you don't instansiate it.

Thanks Scott!  And what namespace is the new method located that replaces the deprecated GetUserByUsername?  Might be ovbious, but I'm not finding it.

Also, using these controller classes in the Enitity namespace... is that the way to go when dealing with User data?  I am trying to figure out how/why/what is split around between the ASP.NET 2.0 stuff and the DNN stuff for User data/roles/profiles.

And digitalman... I thought the Roles property might not contain data until you tell it to hydrate objects (lazy init must be going on here), but that did not seem to populate the user's roles either.  I hadn't gotten that far.  I am also working with queries into the User account data.

Thanks!

I thought that too but changed the hydrate to true and still didn't work. Unless it was caching or something.
