Hi,

I'm trying a new install for DNN 4.3.4 using IIS6, SQL Server Express running with Windows XP Pro SP2.  The installation goes well until the end when I get a "Portal Failed" to installed error .  Which generates the following Server Error:

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have tried other suggestions from this forum on similar problems, but with out any sucess.  Any help that could be offered would be appreciated.

Mitch,

I was also having the same problem. What I simply did was to clean out everything - including the database and start from scratch again. It then worked without any problem. I think that, because I had problems (like 403, etc) during the first installation, I tried many things to try and sort it out. This may have caused the following problems. Hope this helps.
