I am using v3.20.08 of the forums with v4.3.4 of DNN and have what is probably an easy question to answer (I hope): what needs to be done to allow registered users to edit their own forum posts? When I sign in as an admin on the site, I can edit any post I please, but I would assume there is a way to allow individual users to edit their own posts...Is this a bad assumption?

Thanks!

Currently, registered users can only edit their posts if they are trusted. (Settings enabled per user). There is an oversight on my part in the current version though that doesn't allow any original author to edit their post in unmoderated, which will change.

Okay, so you are saying that there is a 'bug' in the version I am using that will not allow me to set users as 'trusted' right? Because I can't see anything like that.

Thanks

There is no so much a bug, but an oversight. A bug is something is working unexpectedly, where as an oversight is where I didn't think about the impact of a change.

This problem is not trusted users issue, it is only around unmoderated forums. YOu can properly set Trusted per user if you are admin or a moderator.

Sure, sure - it was late when I wrote that and I was being sloppy about my word choices.

Okay, so let me see if I have this now: Basically, if a forum is unmoderated, there is currently no way to configure editing for users at all? And if the forum is moderated, a moderator or the site admin can 'trust' them and then they can edit posts? Where do you set this 'trusted' flag? Sorry if I seem dense....

You said "There is an oversight on my part in the current version though that doesn't allow any original author to edit their post in unmoderated, which will change" - when is this expected? Next version? I may go make this change to my own copy of the source for now, but I am curious as to when it will be included.

Thank you for your time, I really appreciate the answers!
