Help!!!  I am frequently getting the following error whenever using the website.  I was able to install it on my 1&1 account and am able to use the site but I get the error pretty frequently and it is annoying.  I also do not want the users to get this error.  If I hit the reload button, it usually works but sometimes it takes a few hits of the reload button to get working.

I am new to DNN and do not know how to troubleshoot this problem.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Freddie

I was getting the same thing every time I would click Register or Login.  Making a small change to the web.config would seem to fix it since that caused the application to restart.  But the problem would keep coming back.  I believe I have it solved now though.  My DNN site is installed in a subdirectory on my site.  I had to grant ASP.NET file permissions at the root level of the site in order to get it working.

It turns out the file permissions changes didn't fix the problem.  I have now got it running without exceptions by disabling "friendly URLs".

Login as host.  Go to Host Settings, expand Advanced Settings, expand Friendly Url Settings.  Uncheck the "Use Friendly Urls?" box.

This sucks though because now the urls show up in a like this:
Default.aspx?tabid=16&portalid=0.

I have the same server error, except I cannot get anything else.  I would like to go your route, but how do i login as a hot, etc, if i cannot get past the securtiy exception?

Thanks,

David
