More data on this bug.

If I edit a post and publish it (doing nothing else) it adds two hours to the post date.  It does this consistently and repeatedly.  I believe that two hours is the difference between my host and me (the time set on my blog).  I expect that if I set the time on the portal, host, and/or blog (can I do that?  I'll find out.  ;) ) it's fix it.  And I'll post my results.  Well, it won't fix it, but it'll workaround.

(yes, I realize this is three posts you have to moderate :) )

That did it.  I set the blog TZ to GMT-7 and the time was no longer changed when I edited and posted.

I am experiencing this issue myself. I have a blog entry on the 8th of this month and the 8th is highlighted on the calendar, but when I click the 8th on the calendar it says there are no posts for this day.

FYI, my site is set at GMT -6 and so is my blog. This is my site and it is hosted in the same city as myself so all the clocks involved should all be on central time.

I can verify this. My portal is set as UTC+1 (i.e. Central European Time, CET) and my account as well. After sumitting a new entry a post at 15:00 CET shows as being posted on 17:00 GMT (this is a gap of 3 hours!!). The stored time in the DB is 16:00 which corresponds to 15:00 GMT as the server is set at CET. I hope this helps.

There are two problems with the date, one is that even if you are only editing the entry it adds the timezone offset, so if you edit the post 3 times you can get mad when you can't find the post :-D

Another issue is that when you select a format for the date, the dates being stored in the db are *stored* in that format, not only shown, what's the problem with that? If you store the full dates, then you can switch from one format to another and there will be no problem, but if you store the dates as mm/dd/yyyy and you don't store hh:mm:ss info, when you switch to another format you have lost that info. The only change would be storing the whole date, instead of the formatted date.
