hello!!

I've got a site in a remote server and I would like to generate a copy of this site in my own server. The problem is that I can't move the database. I try to export orcopy that database but it misses some procedures and the sit does not work. Is there any way to create an EXACT copy of this database to my server??

In the remote server I use sql enterprise manager and in my server I have sql server 2005.

Once I could be capale to copy the site into my server, I would like to know if I could use the same technique to do the same but backwards; I mean, Once I have it in my server I would like to upgrade and make changes in my server and once all is ok publish into the remote server (always work with my server instead of the remote server.

Does anybody have some ideas about it??

I don't know if I've explained it correctly. If you don't understand my problem please ask it.

THANKYOU!!!

When you access your database using enterprise manager can you back up the database to a file and then access that file to transfer it to your local machine?  If so you could restore this file to a local SQL instance and have the copy site connect to this new DB (you have to change the connections string in the web.config).
Yes you can also go the other way as well but remember the DB is being overwritten not merged.

yes, i can access it but I've been reading and I've found some people telling I can't use a backup of my sql 2005 to take it into the enteprise manager (I forgot to tell that it was sql 2000). I think it is the problem. I'll try to get sql 2005 in both servers and see what happens

Thankyou for your response!!!!

Yes you are right you have to restore to 2005.  You could get SQL Express for your local.
