Hi,

I have problem accessing the WEB site from the internett. I installed the Portal without any problems by using the local IP adress (http://192.168.1.5/Install/install.aspx?mode=install). The problem now is that all the links is refered to this IP adress (192.168.1.5) so when I access my WEB site from the internett I am unable to open the differen pages because the client can't fint the IP address 192.168.1.5 Ex the login link will refer to 'http://192.168.1.5/myweb/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx'. From the intranett this will work, but from the inernett this will fail .

How can I override this ? Is it possible to configure the portal to use relative links the the different pages on my DotNetNuke site? Ex. '~/myweb/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx'

Best regards,

Hans

Hi,

Try log in with the host account and edit your portal by adding a new alias (i.e. mydomain.com/yourportalname)

The problem has been solved. I am running a ISA server which was the problem. I had configured the WEB access in the ISA server using the local IP address insted of using the domain name.

In order to access you site from the internet you must have either a) A FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) or b) The IP Address (Not the intranet IP - and external IP)  Then you add the FQDN as a portal alias to the site.....it is located on the Admin or Host menu.  DNN installs itself as localhost initially and you must add the internet URL (www.abc.com or whatever) that you want it to answer with as a portal alias
