Modules do not load at all.

I installed dotnetnuke as a website on my server. You can see it here: http://skulczyk.netpl.net/

Server is: Windows 2000, IIS 5, DotNet2.0, SQL Express 2005

None of the modules work. There is a red exclamation mark with the words "An error has occurred" next to every module. I am able to log in as admin, create new users and pages, add modules and run all the Common Tasks. When I look in the DB I can see the users that I create. I tried reinstalling the modules. They are installed without any errors but the effect is the same.

Why aren't the modules working? I can't find anything about this on any forums, yet when I search for "DotNetNuke An error has occurred" I find other web pages that have the same errors on them so I must not be the only one with this problem.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Looks like you didn't configure the second SQL Connection string (about 10 lines below the first).  Make sure both SQL Connection string are configured the same.

I have the same problem. Successful install, however when I clicked on "goto my portal" I get a page saying "An error has occurred. An error has occurred." (twice) with a big red ' ! ' in a red triangle. URL is "Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0" if that helps.
I have checked the database connection string in both places of the web.config file, they are correct. However when completing the successful install the second line was still commented at the time. I took the comment out to correct it after the install completed, but this did not change anything.

It was the second connection string. Thank you.

I fixed the second connection string and everything is working. However, the problem wasn't that I didn't set it up. I did, but there was an error in it, specificly in the xml tag itself. Check what message you get from the '!'. If it tells you that user name or db does not exist then you have an error there in the connection string. If it tells you that the connection string is missing, you may have an error in the tag itself.

I've done and re-done the connection strings a couple times now, so im thinking thats not the problem, but it might be. How can I check the message I get from the '!'? All Im seeing on the page is "An error has occured" repeated one time. It installed fine, and i checked the database, and all the tables and values are there, so Im pretty sure its not a Username/DB error. Any other ideas?
