I need to redirect from a subfolder based on the url. I have an installation using multiple urls as "Parent" portals. I would like to have users go to www.theirurl.com/mail and redirect them to another ip or url. Each one will be different based on the sites url.

Is there anyway to accomplish this?

We configured iis to use a custom error page and then wrote a custom 404 error page in asp that read a list in the dnn database so it could redirect based on settings the customer defined in a dnn list.

see cofes.com/2003, cofes.com/2004 for it in action

I’m almost embarrassed to be pointing you to this. This was the first DNN module I wrote (just over a year ago). It may be helpful for you. http://www.accidentalarchitect.com/Resources/DNNRedirector/tabid/149/Default.aspx

mhj96813 - Do you have any references (MSDN or otherwise) on writing dynamic error pages to recommend?

Do you know old style asp? My error page is just a standard asp page that redirects based on data from the database.  You could hardcode the redirects in the asp page.  To make it run you just tell IIS to load that page when a 404 error has occured.  It can't be an aspx page or dnn will try to handle it.

does that make sense?  There are many sites around that will hepl with asp.  Search google.  I haven't used much asp recently.  I learned it from books and some trial and a lot of errors.

DNN will redirect for you if you place an entry (or entries) in SiteUrls.config to look for your subfolder(s), and then make the SendTo a different Url.

This post  should help you get what you need.
