Hi Guys,

I'm looking to demo the current version of the Store Module to a client tomorrow, but understand from posts in this forum that it needs quite a bit of code tweaking to get working.

What I want to know is whether it works at all without code tweaking.

I'd like to give a basic demo and say that the next version will be better, but I don't want to go to a whole lot of trouble trying to get it working - understanding that there isn't much documentation available yet - only to find that it doesn't work at all without code tweaking, which I don't have the time (and probably the expertise) to do myself.

(My potential client is a local school that wants to enable parents to order and pay for healthy kids lunches online - in addition to all of the more obvious good stuff that DNN provides.)

If I know that it does work - even after a fashion - "out of the box", then I'll give it a go: otherwise I won't even go there until it does so or there's some documentation that a novice like me can use to make it do so!

Thanks very much.

Regards

Gary

We are trying to wrap this up this week (cannot make any promises).  We hoped to have it completed last week, but found a few show stopper bugs during testing.

Hi Gary,

Tomorrow is not much warning ;)  In fact your demo is now today?  It has been a while since I had a plain unmodified DNN store installed, but I believe it does work to a certain extent, probably enough to give a bare bones demo at least.  Use the paypal provider (enter fake data in store admin where it asks for your paypal details) and dont click the buy now button on the checkout page.   It wont be pretty, but if you play around with it before hand and get used to it, you can avoid showing the areas with the worst problems.

I am also based in Auckland, so if you need any help with DNN Store or other DNN related stuff, please check out my website at www.bestwebsites.co.nz

JK.

You know your website is cool, so why not let your users help you by spreading the word on social networking sites - get the DotNetNuke Social Bookmarks Module with 57 different ways to add social bookmarks to your site ... or download the FREE demo right now

Yeah, it'll just about work, you won't be able to view the order details once they've been placed though.

If I were you I'd work out a demo route and stick to it, whatever you do don't let the users loose on it either!

Actually, looking at the times you might well have made your demo by now, how'd it go?

Hi Robert,

Where are things at a the moment?  Has the update been published yet?  I've checked the project site a couple of times since reading your last post but haven't seen anything that indicates that it has been published.  Am I missing something or is it still frustrating you?

Thanks very much.

Regards

Gary
