I need help on the following, if anyone knows "how to" or can point me in the right direction it will be appreciated!

Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
I have a control (.ascx) that is loaded within DNN from a link on a grid to this URL
( /Demo/tabid/53/ctl/TakeTest/mid/404/tid/11/Default.aspx ) basically I pass the name of a control to be loaded as a parameter within the URL, when it loads I programmatically add another control within that control with this code:

<code>
Dim controlToLoad As String = "../../DesktopModules/OTT1Display/OTT1Display.ascx"
     Dim objPortalModuleBase As PortalModuleBase = CType(Me.LoadControl(controlToLoad), PortalModuleBase)
        If Not (objPortalModuleBase Is Nothing) Then
           objPortalModuleBase.ModuleConfiguration = Me.ModuleConfiguration
           objPortalModuleBase.ID = System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(controlToLoad)
           plhControler.Controls.Add(objPortalModuleBase) ' *** plhController is an <asp:placeholder> ****
        End If
</code>

Everything to this point works fine, here is what I am trying to add to it ...

I want to add the ability to minimize and maximize that control I programmatically add to the first control. A good example of what I am trying to do is on a Modules Settings, as a developer we can create our own settings and that settings control for our custom control is added to the setting page and we can minimize it and maximize it.

I hope all this makes sense, if not, please post a question and I'll try to answer it.

Thanks in advance for any and all help,
HBenton

Did you review the ClientAPI-MinMax document?

Jon -

Thank you for the reply. I did indeed review the ClientAPI, however, after numerous attempts at trying to configure it for my application I decided to chuck it and just go with the DNN:SectionHead control instead.

I found the documentation for the ClientAPI to be very difficult to follow and didn't find it helpful, at least to me. It seemed as if the documentation had been created for someone that already had knowledge of the control and not user friendly for someone just trying to get started with it. It does however have a very nice layout and is appealing to the eye.

Perhaps, as a suggestion, creating a document on the ClientAPI "For Dummies", LOL, like me, would be found more helpful.

Don't get me wrong, I can see your very talented, I'm just not as technically advanced as you (but I am working on it) and need items a little more spelled out!

Cheers,
HBenton
