Hallo,
I recently installed a dnn based intranet with a repository module on.
It seems to me that there is an issue with file extension allowed.
I added .doc files to the list of allowed file in host-->settings menu.
I provided the mime type for word document in the repository module settings.
Now i can upload .doc files to the repository, but if i try to upload a .DOC (capital case) file the upload process fails, cause .DOC seems not to be a valid extension to the module.
I tried to add .DOC in the host-->settings section, but this was unsuccesful (as i expected).
I cant add .DOC extension in the repository settings; if i try to do that there's a runtime error caused by a dupicate key in the database (obviously). The latter seems to be a poor solution though.
Is there someone who already faced this kind of stuff?

Couple of questions..

you say the upload fails, but then say it's because it's not a valid extension. If the upload fails because it's not a valid extension, then when you attempt to upload the file, you should see a red error message saying the file type is invalid .. is that the case? do you get a DotNetNuke error message? or are you getting an ASP.NET error page? what message ( if any ) are you getting? anything in the logs that might provide more info on the actual error?

Also, what version of the Repository are you using? There was a bug in prior versions that would prevent uploads if the extension was also present somewhere in the path to the folder where the files were being stored. For example, uploading a .doc file to a folder named c:\inetpub\wwwroot\mydocs\.  However that bug was fixed in the latest (current) version.

My fault!

The module i'm actually using is another kind of... a co-worker of mine (jerk) change it on the current installed version of my intranet. I'm sorry if i have worried you, feel free to delete this stuff. Thanks.
