I have upgraded DNN 3.0.3 to 3.0.5.
After upgrade, FileManager does not see existing folders and files -- both in site file manager and host file manager. I tried clicking on the "Synchnronize folders" button, but nothing happens. Meanwhile creating new folders works fine.

Then I checked directly in the Folders table, and noticed that old folder's names are with two or three slashes in the end. So I edited the names to remove extra trailing slashes, and now File Manager can see those folders, but files in those folders are still not displayed.

I tried turning on the "File system auto-sync" setting in the Host settings, but this does not help either.

Also, is there a difference in how Host's file manager works? Does it work directly from file system? For some reason folders like Skins or Containers are not stored in the database.

I would appreciate any help or hint.
Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping you mean 3.3.3 to 3.3.5 instead of 3.0.3 and 3.0.5

On the file manager, be sure to check the "recursive" option when synchronizing, otherwise it will only hit the files in that directory, not folder.

Sorry about version numbers, I meant 4.0.3 to 4.3.5

No, recursive check does not help.

Also,I tried a clean installation of 4.3.5 -- it does not show any sub-folders under Host's File Manager. So I guess something changed in design of this feature? Looks like Host cannot go to Skins or Containers folder any more?

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to 3.3.5 from an earlier version (3.3.1).  The folder tree just appears blank.  It does not help to perform a recursive synchronize folder operation.  Also, when I log in to the portal, there is a script error in the lower left window of IE.  Here's the error detail:

Line: 610

Char: 1

Error: 'dnn.controls' is null or not an object

Code: 0

It's the Windows XP version of IE with the latest patches.  Interestingly enough, this all works perfectly fine in Firefox.

We're having the same problem with 2 different development installations.  One was an upgrade from 3.3.3 to 3.3.4 and now 3.3.5.  The other one is from 3.3.4 new install to 3.3.5.

  1. We have checked the recursive to refresh.
  2. Checked the synch job and enabled it.  Job executes in 0 seconds.
  3. Checked the physical file structure on the machine. The files are there.
  4. We noticed the problem after a skin upload.  The skin module sees the files, but the file manager does not.
  5. In one installation, the host filemanager subdirectories are there and in the other, there not.
  6. In one installation, the admin filemanager exist portal directories (skins, etc) are there, but no new ones show up.  In the other portal no directories are then, even the ones that were there before.

We haven't tried a brand new 3.3.5 installation yet.
