I would like to be able to set the background colour of the selected top-level tab so that it differs from the non-active tabs.  What I mean is that when a user clicks on a Tab it changes colour but remains that colour.  Note, I will not have any sub-menus!

I don't just want the colour to change whilst the mouse is hovering over it, i.e mainmenu_menuitemsel stylesheet element.  (For an example of what I mean please refer to www.amazon.co.uk.

If its not currently able to achieve this, where would the best place in the code be to add this functionality in.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

try this css class .RootMenuItemsActive -
I am never sure which classes need to first be defined in skin.xml (if you are doing html skins),
so you should check that
