I saw another post regarding this so please forgive me for posting it again.  I don't understand how to fix it the problem, and don't understand what the other post is saying.

Up until 2 days ago, my user accounts module was working fine.  I could log on and click there and see all teh wonderful people who have registered themselves as users...Now I get this:

Error: User Accounts is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.TextColumnTemplate.GetValue(DataGridItem container) at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.TextColumnTemplate.Item_DataBinding(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnDataBinding(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid.CreateItem(Int32 itemIndex, Int32 dataSourceIndex, ListItemType itemType, Boolean dataBind, Object dataItem, DataGridColumn[] columns, TableRowCollection rows, PagedDataSource pagedDataSource) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid.CreateControlHierarchy(Boolean useDataSource) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataList.OnDataBinding(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataList.DataBind() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Users.UserAccounts.BindData(String SearchText, String SearchField) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Users.UserAccounts.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I don't know what went wrong or how this happened, but I want to pull out my hair because I can't fix it!

The DNN I am running is 3.3.2

If some kind person would pleas just ell me how to fix it that would be GREAT!

Thank you

Ida

I had the same problem.
Open the User table in the Dotnetnuke database.
Ensure that all users have values in the FirstName and LastName column.

Oh I feel like such an idiot...but What do you mean.  I choose DNN because of it's ease of use and not having to deal with coding etc..I am completely clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Open the User table in the Dotnetnuke database.
Ensure that all users have values in the FirstName and LastName column.

Your information left big question marks over my head LOL Maybe you could explain further (I'm so sorry)

Hey, qtida.

Dotnetnuke has a database where all user and portal content are stored.
In this database there is a table called Users.

If you are using an SQL server (2000 or 2005), open this table in the enterprise manager
(right click the table and choose "View all rows"). The table should display rows with user information.

Check that all users in the table have a FirstName and LastName, if they don't, fill out the missing information
manually in the table grid.
